Position Overview:
Seneca Foods is seeking an Agricultural Equipment Mechanic to join our team in Ripon, WI. This position plays a key role in maintaining and repairing harvesting equipment, ensuring efficient and uninterrupted product flow to our processing plants. The role includes both in-season support during harvest and off-season equipment maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of agricultural and diesel-powered equipment.
Perform preventative maintenance and overhauls during the off-season to prepare for harvest.
Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues and make necessary repairs or upgrades.
Monitor equipment during harvest to ensure steady product flow and relieve Harvester Operators when needed.
Supervise seasonal employees during harvest operations.
Maintain accurate records and control maintenance costs in alignment with budget.
Perform maintenance tasks in other areas of the facility as required.
Ensure all work complies with GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
1 to 3 years of mechanical repair experience (agricultural equipment preferred).
Valid driver’s license required; CDL is a plus but not required.
Must have basic hand and power tools; welding/fabrication skills are a plus.
Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude.
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Must be dependable and reliable, with flexibility to work extended hours during harvest season.
